How our country's Independence Day was celebrated abroad

America's Independence Day was celebrated at the U.S. Embassy in Bucharest this week with the Romanian nation's most esteemed singer-songwriter-producer Paula Seling performing the American National Anthem.

The President of Romania Klaus Iohannis attended the celebration, hosted by the Embassy's Charge d'Affairs Dean Thompson (because the U.S. Congress has not yet approved President Obama's nominee for a new Ambassador to that country).

Here are brief video-clips from that celebration ceremony:

Paula Seling - National Anthem of the USA (2 minutes)

Paula Seling's performance was broadcast live by Romanian TV channels, and it created a buzz among her many fans.

At the very end of the anthem, she managed to hold a single note for 16-seconds, a feat that made headlines in Romania the following day.   :-)
