        Romania at the Eurovision Song Contest

                                Romanian singer-songwriter Ovidiu Cernauteanu (aka "Ovi")


The Eurovision Song Contest has, since 1956, been an annual competition among member nations of the European Broadcasting Union, becomming one of the world's most-watched non-sporting events, with an audience of up to 600 million worldwide.

                 
Contest rules limit song-durations to 3 minutes, prohibit use of previously published lyrics, and require the vocalists to perform "live", although their orchestral soundtrack may be prerecorded. The number of performers allowed on stage cannot exceed six. Romania has been a participant 17 times, beginning in 1994, with the entries below:
