11/30/11: The office hour is shortened today to 3:30-4:30pm. The instructor will be attending Real-World Experiences with Search Engines talk by USF CS alum.

12/08/11: Extra-credit opportunity. I am looking for a student or two who will present a poster on Lab 1 at CS Night. I will help creating the poster summarizing the user tracking results and/or more, and you will need to present the poster. Upon successful presentation, you will receive 10 extra points in the Final exam, out of 100. Update: poster on secure website is already spoken for. A slot for user tracking poster is still open.

11/10/11: Extra-credit opportunity. Cyber Security: an interview with Michael Nacht, Ph.D., the former Assistant Secretary of Defense on Thursday, November 10 at 5:45pm at Fromm Hall. You will need to sign in the attendance sheet (I'll be there) and submit a lecture report. The template for the lecture report is in Blackboard. You may get up to 5 extra points in the Final exam, out of 100.

10/25/11: Worm: The First Digital War will be held in Computer History Museum on October 25, 2011. The admission is free, and will be broadcasted on KQED Radio on October 27 at 8pm and on Saturday, November 12 at 1pm.

10/5/11: Midterm will be on Wednesday, October 5th in-class. We will have a review session on Monday, October 3rd. Midterm questions will be similar to quiz questions.

9/19/11: Assignment 1a clarification: assume that the public key of a user is only known to the ZBoxlive.com. The correct answer still works without knowing the public key.

9/18/11: The make-up lecture on 9/16 is available on Blackboard->Course Information. The recording consists of screenshots and my voice.

9/7/11: The make-up lecture for 8/31 is scheduled on 9/16/11. Come to the same classroom at 4:45pm.
