George Washington University is located in northwest quadrant of Washington, D.C., close to the White House, adjacent to the World Bank and International Monetary Fund, and near the National Academy of Sciences. The District of Columbia offers a multitude of sightseeing and entertainment opportunities. A number of national museums are in proximity to the GW Foggy Bottom campus, in particular, the Smithsonian Institution is the world's largest museum complex and research organization and includes nineteen museums and the National Zoo, all with free admission.
