Moodle's Tool for Online Group Discussions

Teachers and Students:

Navigate to Forum
From the main page
Click the Forums link in the activities menu
Click any of the available forums to enter


Various Options
Add a New Discussion Topic
You can enter a subject, a new message and save the changes. This will create a new discussion topic in the forum

View a Discussion
Click the title of the discussion to view all posts, reply to a specific post. You can also reply to a post by clicking the reply button.

Rate a Member
1) Mostly Connected Knowing
A member in this category tends to be more sensitive to other's ideas in the forum. This particular member may tend to be more empathetic, receptive, and willing to understand other's points of view. These types of members are not confrontational, but they will present other points of view based on experience and help others in the forum through positive suggestions.
2) Mostly Separate Knowing
A member in this category is more objective and does not include their own feelings / emotions in discussion. This member will defend their own ideas and refute other's ideas. This member is also critical of other's ideas unless proven by fact, textbooks, and reliable sources.
3) Separate and Connected
A combination of the above categories

Jump to a Specific Course Element in a Section
Click the drop down menu that says "Jump To" and select a course element to jump to.

Change the Way Posts are Viewed
At the top of the page in the middle, click the drop down menu and choose how to display each post.

By clicking this link, you can view the post that appeared before yours.
