Summer Enrichment
Program
for
Young Women
Twenty young women from a number of San
Francisco high schools will be attending a
week long program highlighting the many aspects of computer science and
technology at the University of San Francisco. The program will be taught by USF computer science
students Serene Chong, Ketaki Joshi, Nancy Montanez, and Jennifer Reyes. The
student will program robots, learn about Google Earth, program
in Python, take apart computers, and explore computer networks.
The program features guest speakers Ellen Spertus and Neha
Nerula from Google, Kelly
Gotlib from Tyco (and a USF alum), Deborah Volk from Endeca,
and Monica Pal from LignUp.
One of the highlights of the week will be a field trip to
Macromedia in San Francisco.
The week-long program was organized by USF professor David
Wolber,
USF Alum and Board of Trustee Teresa Win and USF Grad Student
Nancy Montanez.
