Assignment for Thursday, March 3

1. Try out the two web-based metasearch clients accessible at webtop.cs.usfca.edu. Read the brief text about the system on that page.
The systems are buggy and incomplete, but check them anyway.

2. Try out the Windows client, downloadable from the above page. If you'd like, publish your personal web (NOTE: There seems to be a new bug in this part of system)

3. Wiki comments about the system and papers. Final submissions will be due on Friday, March 4 midnight (I'll be speaking on the system on thursday evening). Try to discuss the envisioned system and not the actual bug-infested prototype.

Optional

There is an older paper that focuses on the metasearch client of WebTop. There's a short paper that was published last year.
There's another paper that wasn't published anywhere.

Create a new digital library source for the WebTop system. The idea is to "wrap" an interesting source, one that hopefully has an API of its own.
