        World's Smart Cities: Bucharest, Romania

A television documentary, exploring the history and culture of Romania's capital city,
was produced in 2015 by the National Geographic Channel at a cost of over $1M.

As is indicated in the following pair of brief preview-clips, the documentary's narration
in English is accompanied by Romanian-language subtitles.

According to an advance announcement of the project by Romania's AGERPRESS news service on 14 August 2014, the documentary movie is being produced mainly to promote Bucharest as a smart city-break destination, along with promoting lesser known aspects of the city regarding its history, cultural and artistic life, its educational opportunities, plus other elements already familiar to many foreigners.

The documentary is to be broadcast during Feb-May 2015, with Germany, France, Italy, the UK, Russia and Romania being the primary target markets, as well as in Spain and Poland, Abu Dhabi and India.

The project envisions a 45-minute movie with four promotional spots of 30-seconds each, thus allowing time for some commercials to be inserted by local sponsors.

I happened to see this program being broadcast in Iasi, Romania, on 31 May 2015, and later discovered that the version below had been uploaded to YouTube:
