Hello! I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of San Francisco and currently serve as the Academic Director of the MSCS, MSCS Bridge, and MSCS 4+1 programs.
My research interests are centered around big data, distributed systems, and cloud computing. This includes systems approaches for processing and managing data at scale in a variety of domains, including fog computing and Internet of Things (IoT) devices. Some of my research projects include:
- Agami, visualizing high-throughput data streams
- Galileo, a distributed, geospatial storage system
- Minerva, a disk scheduling agent and cloud resource management framework
I am also a co-author of An Introduction to Parallel Programming 2nd Edition textbook that we use in a few courses here at USF.
