Research Lab
I am a co-director of the USF MAGICS Lab (Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Game Intelligence, and Computing at Scale). We meet weekly to discuss current research projects, host tutorials, collaborate, and read papers. If you’re a new student looking for research opportunities or just interested in our topics of study, please feel free to drop by one of our meetings!
On a personal level, my research interests are centered around big data, distributed systems, and cloud computing. Or, to put it succinctly, computing at scale. You can view my publications for more info.
Research Projects
- Agami: scalable visualization of streaming data
- Galileo: a high-throughput distributed storage system for multidimensional data
- Minerva, a disk scheduling agent and cloud resource management framework
- Contributions to the Granules framework for distributed stream processing
- jbsdiff: a Java implementation of the bsdiff algorithm.
Other Utilities
Occasionally research or teaching projects lead to the development of small tools or scripts. Some of the utilities are available at sigpipe.io, and there are miscellaneous utility scripts at GitHub.
- dssh – ssh for clusters
