My name is Sami Rollins and I am an assistant professor of computer science at the University of San Francisco. I also hold an adjunct assistant professorship at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. I received my PhD from UC Santa Barbara where I worked with Kevin Almeroth in the Networking and Multimedia Systems Lab. I primarily teach in the systems area and my current research interests include energy management for mobile devices. I have been working with Mark Corner (UMass) on a couple of interesting projects.
I received my BA in Computer Science in 1998 from Mills College, a small women's college in Oakland, CA. I spent the summer of 1998 and summer of 1999 through March of 2000 at IBM Almaden Research center working under Neel Sundaresan on XML and web technologies. I received an MS in Computer Science in March of 2000 after completing an industrial master's thesis at IBM. I spent the summer of 2001 at HP Labs working with Dejan Milojicic on the Pervasive Services Infrastructure project. |
