Some Math for Modern Times
This talk describes a trip the speaker took last June to a country
in Eastern Europe which has long had a special connection to mathematics
-- one that seems largely unknown to most students here in the
United States -- and how the speaker was led to an interesting
mathematical theorem about image-rescaling while constructing
an internet website that could acquaint viewers with this remarkable
and rapidly advancing country: Romania.
